Below are some great tips that can help you in overcoming a relationship breakup:

You have to remember that life hasn’t ended.  Life has a way of evolving, and moving forward, and even though your relationship has ended, you can still have a full and rewarding life.  You just have to push yourself forward.

Be Good To Yourself

Even though you may be having feelings of depression, and being unloved; the end of a relationship does not mean that you will be alone forever.  The right person for you may be right around the next corner.

Even though you may not feel like it, you need to remember to eat, drink plenty of liquids, exercise, and get plenty of sleep.  Your body is probably running on emotional stress, and you need to keep yourself healthy.

Meanwhile, be good to yourself.  Get together with some friends and family, and do all the things that you love to do.  Go shopping, take a cruise, see a broadway play, or a movie.  Do some things that you wanted to do with you ex, but they weren’t interested in doing.  Put some fun back  into your life.

Avoid Looking Desperate

No one should wear the desperation emotion, it is not very attractive to anyone.  If you want your ex to take you back, then you need to show them exactly what they are missing.  They want the person they originally fell in love with, not one that is wallows in their misery at all times.

When you are out in public, you need to be at your best, no matter how difficult the situation may be.  Dress up, and no matter what put a smile on your face, even if you feel like you are going to die inside, because you never know when you will meet your ex, or a mutual friend.  So act happy, even if it is the performance of your life.  You can cry in your pillow when you are alone in your own home.

Life Goes On

Yep!  I said cry in your pillow when you get home, bit I didn’t mean every day.  Feeling really bad after a relationship is natural, but if you wallow in your self pity, it just makes you feel even worse than you already do.  There is so much more to life than a broken relationship, so get out, and participate in life.  Start enjoying yourself!  You may feel like you are pretending to be happy, but one day you will stop pretending, and probably won’t notice you even stopped.

Don’t Sit and Over Analyze Your Breakup

It is always true that we need to learn from our mistakes, but the breakup may not have been your fault.  There could be a lot of reasons why you had a break up with your ex, maybe they got cold feet, or they weren’t ready to make a full commitment and got scared.

If you ex decides to give you a phone call, and wants to get together, agree to meet them for a cup of coffee, or a drink at a public place.  You would want to do this, just to see how things would go.  Make sure to go with a positive attitude, be polite, and listen to what they have to say.  If they are telling you that they want to get back up with you, don’t be too eager, but agree to see how it goes.

If you were the one that caused the break up, but now realize that you could of made a mistake, then tell your ex.  They are not mind readers, and if you want to light the fire again and rekindle your romance, then you need to let them know.

In Conclusion

It all comes down to the book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, men and women often don’t see eye to eye, and see life so differently.  Sometimes we split up with our partner to realize what true love was all about.  Often times, these small setbacks give us a break to see what we are missing, and if we can put on our listening ears, we can also learn to communicate rationally.  Listening with both ears and communication is a fantastic way of overcoming a relationship break up and getting back together.
